Our first destination was Wake Forest, North Carolina- close to Raleigh and Durham. We had plans to hike, bike around Raleigh, and visit Durham. Well, once we woke up after arriving very late the night before, it started raining. And it never stopped. I hardly slept that night. Carl couldn’t settle and I couldn’t settle my mind from the stress of the drive. So, we took it easy. We hung out most of the day in the trailer, relaxing and getting Carl used to the space. The sound of the rain was deafening on the roof of the trailer. He wasn’t a happy camper! It was also COLD. We were bundled up in sweatshirts and had our heat on for a bit.

Eventually he was comfortable! And cuddled with Brandon while he worked!

Our original plan was to bike this day, but with one busted bike and no way to carry these bikes anymore, Brandon posted them on Facebook Marketplace and sold them quickly. We were bummed, but thankful we weren’t going to have to tie them all down with duck tape again.

Brandon had been craving some time in a real restaurant, so we sought out some breweries in Raleigh to try. We found two cool breweries (after discovering the large majority of them were closed on Mondays) and enjoyed some time indoors.

The next morning, we hooked up to the Jeep and prepped our Airstream for moving. It was pouring this morning, so of course all of the hookups were soaked, as well as our jacks. Luckily, we had packed some heavy duty construction bags and packed all the wet things with it. It helped, a little.

It was such a shame that it had rained. We never saw the campground and never really got to use our campsite. It was a great site! We will be back, for sure.

On to South Carolina!

Much love,

Lauren
