We are using propane for two things in our airstream: the hot water heater and the range. This made it relatively simple to run one line down the left (driver’s side). Eventually, we would love to run a line over for a grill hook up on the passenger’s side under a new awning.

We had two choices when choosing a material for the gas line. One choice was black pipe. This is a solid conductor. Our other choice was corrugated flex line, which was way more flexible. We picked the flex line route- not just for ease of use but for reduced weight and cost.

The gas line is simple to use. We had a 25 foot spool that we began running from the two tank hookups in the front (installed prior) down along the frame with a T junction underneath where the kitchen range would be. We then ran solid black pipe up through the floor so there was a mount for the connection to the range. From the T junction, the line continued running back to the bathroom area, where the hot water heater would be located.

Since the airstream was already raised up for the undercoating of the subfloor, it was much easier to accomplish, as we were working underneath most of the time. Highly recommend doing this! It saved Brandon a lot of frustration.

Much love,

Lauren
