Hey friends! Before we rip out the contents of our Airstream, we thought we would show you all of the BEFORE pictures. Buckle up… some of it is horrifying!

Exterior:

Other than minor dents and scratches, the exterior is in relatively good shape. However, it sat under trees for the last two years and it is caked with junk that will be hard to remove.

One of the windows will need some work. We are lucky to still have the frame intact, but will have to get a glass panel made for it.

Our tires are in good shape. They were replaced in the last two years. We will need to shine up the hubcaps and potentially repaint to its blue former glory!

Interior:

My favorite “before” picture.

Wasps had made a home in the vent fan panel.

Bed Side #1 (would fit a twin size bed)
Bed Side #2

There is nothing to salvage here!

The floor is completely rotted out. Put a foot through it more than once already!

Flooring:

In short, we’ve got a lot of work to do. Ideally, our plan is to save anything that will help us with the rebuild and redesign later. Metal pieces for wall framing and aluminum walls (hopefully we can clean these up and reuse) are definite saves, as we have seen through others’ experiences that this is helpful.

Tomorrow, we plan on doing our demo! Ripping it all out. Hoping Brandon can get a good night sleep tonight….

Much love,

Lauren
